A Bear Came to Visit

Sitting on a bench

in the forest with the trees,

looking all around

my mind it was at ease.

When looking to the left

there was a big surprise,

a big black ball of fur

looking in my eyes.

I looked back at him

for a second we would freeze,

the thought ran through my mind

walk away would you please.

Only for a moment

he was a bit surprised,

that’s when he would see

the whites of my eyes.

It was just a little bear

with fur as black as coal,

he put fear into my heart

and courage in my soul.
