Goodbye Summer
You gave me all the love I needed
with your sunny days
The time has come for you to say
you must be on your way
I will remember all the memories
made under the stars at night
There were special ones
we call the northern lights
The flowers that you gave to me
in my soul will rest
Some with everlasting love
they were the very best
Now we welcome the cool crisp days
with the colors they will bring
The birds will fly to warmer places
with a few left here to sing
The leaves will fall to the ground
for a blanket from the frost
From green to orange and red
in the winds they will be tossed
The morning dew will turn snow white
as the temps will surely fall
Your beauty from the shorter days
will be spectacular for all
