Stormy Days

From a sunny day

with the clear blue skies

the clouds roll in with thunder

to open up your eyes.

The rain fall is so heavy

it pours from up above

to nurture what is growing

to cover it with love.

As the storm is passing

the sun shows up again

reflecting off the leaves

while raindrops do remain.

The leaves give up their luster

as they begin to dry

like the sparkle that is lost

when the tears fall from your eyes.

Summertime will bring

bright sunshine and a haze

to keep the beauty growing

we must have the stormy days.
